Yoskar Sarante is such a good bachata singer, his album, "Llora Alma Mia", is beautiful. Frank Reyes has a great voice and really gives alot of value on each of his bachata CDs. We are always checking out the latest bachata videos to include on this site. My favorite Frank Reyes song is  "Cuando Te Conoci". What is your favorite Juan Luis Guerra CD? We like the bachata music on "Bachata Rosa". Bachata music is usually in 4/4 time; it grew out of bolero music, originally.  In 1992, Juan Luis Guerra won the Latin Grammy Award for his album "Bachata Rosa". This really lifted bachata music up to a new level of internationally popular Latin music. While Grupo Aventura is probably the most popular bachata group now, there are lots of other successful bachata artists, ranging from the group Super Uba with their traditional Dominican bachata, to Antony Santos with his sweet bachata lyrics. We love the beautiful guitars that are a big part of all bachata music, and the rural, country feeling that makes our hearts full when we listen to bachata. Bachata music has grown from its start in the Dominican Republic to where it's now very  popular throughout Latin America. Monchy and Alexandra have blended it a bit with vallenato style. Many bachata CDs have a flavor of some closesly related genres of Latin music, for instance, bachatamerengue, or bachata-merengue.  In the music of Grupo Aventura, bachata and R&B complement each other. If you're just getting into bachata music, then a sampler like BachataHits 2007 might be right for you.
